Journey into Midwifery - March 30th-April 10th 2013
Explore gentle birth in Bali with three renowned midwives
We invite you to come to Bali for an intensive workshop on the life, philosophy and skills of midwifery. Bali is a beautiful country known for grounded healing and deep spirituality. It offers the perfect environment to journey into ourselves and into birth.
Over 9 days you will explore the basics of being a midwife. Through talks, demonstrations and group work we will cover normal prenatal care, prenatal complications, labor and birth with many variations and postpartum care. Through the study of the phases of midwifery care, you will have the chance to reflect on what you will bring to midwifery and your clients from your own unique life experience. You will have the opportunity to get real hands-on experience: learning blood pressure, veinipuncture, palpation, hand maneuvers for delivering a baby and so much more.
You will also have the opportunity to ask all the questions you have had about midwifery, birth, the education and skills needed to become a midwife, and integration of the life of a midwife into your own life circumstances. Should you chose you may stay in Bali and attend births at the births center. Just a birth is a journey, becoming a midwife is a journey as well. We would be honored to be a part of your journey.
Once you complete this workshop you will be ready to begin an educational program or an apprenticeship with the confidence of knowing what only you will bring to midwifery.
