As YBS has neither access nor experience with maneuvering global logistics to manage the shipment of a year’s supply of vitamins, the journey of these vitamins halfway across the world was made possible through the generous support of Direct Relief International. Their mission is to provide medical assistance to improve quality of life for people victimized by poverty, disaster, and civil unrest at home and throughout the world. The vitamins were initially shipped to the Direct Relief Warehouse in San Fransisco and then shipping and logistical costs were covered all the way to Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia.
New Chapter, Inc. Co-Founder, Barbi Schulick states, “We are delighted our vitamin donations are put to such extraordinary use. Our mission is to offer whole food nutrition that delivers the wisdom of nature. It’s gratifying to know this delivery has made it to the clinic and will get to work where it is needed most.”

On August 22, 2009 Yayasan Bumi Sehat, a health clinic and birth center in Ubud, Bali, received a year’s supply of donated Perfect Prenatal vitamins for Balinese expectant mothers. YBS is a by-donation clinic offering health and midwifery services to those in need located in the village of Nyuh Kuning. The vitamins were generously provided by
For over six years, Yayasan Bumi Sehat has been providing medical services in a country economically devastated by the Bali bombings in 2002 and 2004 which brought tourism, the major industry, to a standstill. An average Balinese family income makes obtaining vitamins unrealistic due to the expensive cost. The typical diet consisting of white rice and fried food lacks adequate nutrition to support the pregnant women and her growing baby. The Perfect Prenatal vitamins are comprised of whole food and probiotic nutrients and are certified organic, therefore making a healthy start available to this population. Vitamins are passed out at the antepartum clinic which is held 3 days a week, with 20-40 pregnant women seen at each clinic. About 50 – 60 babies per months are born into the loving hands of the Bumi Sehat midwives.
